programme， 可做动词和名词，这里是动词，被动态programmed, be programmed to 直意为被设定为。。程序。。

and 前后连接的是连个并列的成分， 注意观察 allow for XXXXX and for XXX
maitaining 之所有用ing 是用作结果状语，因为maintain的主语和前面一句的主语是同一个“the great flexibility”，所以可以省略，直接用动词ing 形式。
