＂National Day＂ which means the festival of a country appears first in the western Jin dynasty. In the ancient time, the enthronement day and birthday of the emperor are called ＂National Days＂. Today National Day refers to the anniversary of the establishment of a country. In September of 1949, October 1st was nominated as the National Day of PRC at the first plenary meeting of Chinese people's political consultative conference. The National Day was declared officially on October 2nd , 1949. Thus October 1st of 1950 was our first National Day.
