其实不是一种法国的风俗习惯，但是在18世纪，法国人性格随便，性情浪漫，在参加宴会等一切社交聚会时，养成了不向主人告别就擅自离去的习惯。而守规矩的英国人看不惯法国人这种行为，把法国人发明的不打招呼就擅自离开的行为叫做“法国式离开”（French leave），泛指“悄然而去、溜之大吉”，是贬义词。当然我们都知道法国人是以礼貌和教养著称，以前英文还称其为French fare。因此法国人一听到这种没有礼貌的行径竟是挂他们的名字，自然感到咽不下这口气。于是他们也不甘示弱在法文中搞出一个同义词叫filer(s'en aller) a l'anglasie＂ （亦即是 take English leave）。我有一个法国女朋友，她告诉我，她们讲女人的每月的事来了都叫做“英国人来了”。这自然也不是英国的风俗习惯吧。呵呵。
