Computers are valuable because they are general-purpose machines that can solve many different kinds of problems,as opposed to special-purpose machines that can each solve only one kind of problem. 最后，从严格意义上，写作软件特指不仅具备丰富的写作素材和写作资源，还能根据程序设计进行模块化处理，自动整合、自动联想、自动生成、自动创作的智能写作软件。

综上所述，“写作软件”一词具有广义、一般意义和严格意义三种定义，而“自动写作软件”一词只指严格意义上的写作软件。

目前，国内的快手师爷、吉吉、小黑屋等写作软件由于不具备自动写作功能，所以只能算作一般意义上的写作软件，尚无法成为严格意义上的写作软件，只有微软对联软件和大作家超级自动写作软件可以称为这种意义上的写作软件。这种软件可以帮用户打开思维，辅助思考，甚至实现框架写作、章节写作、草稿写作甚至全文写作，引导用户真正实现“所欲即所想，所想即所得”。这种多、快、好、省的人工智能技术，已经成为写作软件发展的必然趋势。
