Good evening,everybody. I'm going to tell you something about Chinese festival. I'm going to tell you about Mid-Autumn Festival. It varies accoding to lunar year. It takes place at the end of September or earlier of October.

First of all, before I carry on, I should say a few words about mooncakes. There are many different kindsof mooncakes. There are small round or square cakes with meet, eggs, nuts or something sweet inside. Mooncake symbols harmony and happyiness. So Mid-Autumn Festival also calles Moon Festival. Anyway, goback to the festival. Let me explain how it got this name: long ago, there was a couple, Hou Yi and Chang'e. One day, Hou Yi brougt some medicine which can make you live for ever. After a few days, someone went to their home, and tried to steal the medicine. Because Hou Yi was out. But Chang'e found their attempt. Chang'e ate the medicine. Suddenly she flew to the sky......

Returning to the festival itself, on that day families eat a big dinner. They also eat mooncakes. Many families eat their dinner outside in the open air. And the moon looks brighter and rounder on this day. In America, they called this moon the Harvest Moon. We can also see some fireworks outside.
