ThatthesaidAddrebepresentedtoHerMajestybysuchMembersoftheHouseasareofHerMajesty'smostHonourablePrivyCouncilorofHerMajesty'sHousehold.

Thisweekwecelebratethe80thbirthdayofoneofthemostreectedpeopleofourtimes,whoseseeofdutyandservicehashadaprofoundimpactonourcountry,themonwealthandtheworld.

Yearsbeforetheprematuredeathofherfatherandherunexpectedsucceiontothethrone,thethenPrinceElizabethpubliclydedicatedherlifetotheserviceofhernation,butdeclaredthatshewouldneedthesuortofthecountrytoeurethatshecouldfulfilthatpromise.Shehas,asweknow,carriedoutthispledgethroughallthechanges,bothinherlifeandinthiscountry,withextraordinarygraceanddedication,andherpeople,hereandacrothemonwealth,whoshareinthecelebrationofher80thbirthdaythisyear,hereonded,asshehopedthattheywould,withtheiraffectionandsuort.
